Saints (12-4) vs. Bears (8-8) Preview

The Saints Offense finally appears to be at full strength with Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara, and Michael Thomas all back in the lineup at the same time for just the 4th time this season. Sean Payton has the scheme, the quarterback, and the offensive weapons to carve up any defense. And if the Bears can’t get consistent pressure on Brees, it will be a long day in the Super Dome for Chicago.

Like many teams heading into the playoffs, the Bears have turned more to their running game during the home stretch of the season. The success of their rushing attack has helped keep Mitchell Trubisky in more manageable situations, and his game has settled down somewhat in recent weeks as a result. He is completing more than 70% of his passes over his last 4 games. However, the Saints Defense won’t make things comfortable for Trubisky. They are very good against the run and they utilize coverage and pressure looks that have even given Tom Brady trouble.

The Saints and Bears played an overtime thriller in Soldier Field earlier this season, but these teams are not quite the same as they were then. You can see how they match up head-to-head below:
